Keeping things Traditional
Meet the Maker
Geoff Solomon-Sims lives in Gloucestershire with his wife and their cat, Kiwi.
Geoff grew up with Tolkien, Heroquest, The Dark Crystal, Terry Pratchett and a love for the history of the British Isles. In his late-teens he set aside miniatures games to pursue a passion for making theatre, training in Stage Management with a specialism in Propmaking and Scenic Construction. Geoff freelanced as a Prop and Modelmaker for stage and screen and continues to accept the occasional commission to keep his hand in. He also holds a degree in Applied Theology. Geoff currently teaches Modelmaking at the University of the West of England (Bristol).
Having rediscovered his love of miniatures through the Oldhammer Community, Geoff founded Oakbound in 2014 to make the kind of miniatures he wanted to paint and play with. Almost everything produced by the company is designed, sculpted, cast and packed by Geoff himself. He was delighted to recently realise a long-term ambition of getting a base of operations for Oakbound so he can reclaim his games room!
Geoff is pretty shy but loves talking to people at shows. He has a somewhat wacky sense of humour! When time permits he also enjoys live music, archaeology lectures, roller discos and playing the guitar.
